Easy Lover is a dream pop duo hailing from Brooklyn, who this week have released their new EP ‘The Night We Breathe’. With vocalist Kali Holloway’s vocal strength, nearly imparting vivaciousness to it’s audience, and Jeremy Wimmer’s shimmery and appropriately hollow 80s style production, the EP strikes a successful chord, standing out amidst a sea of glittery dream pop tracks.
New Olivia, the current single, has been making its internet rounds and is quite deserving of the attention. It’s the perfect example of Easy Lover’s ability to embody simple sounds, that out of context could even be cheesy, in a pragmatic way. Another standout track, The End of Our Deceit, beckons to something in me; maybe it’s the little boy who used to belt out Heart’s Alone, or maybe it’s the 80s production loving, diva worshipping man I am today. Kali is coming very close with that 80s powerhouse voice (she needs some big hair to go with it), and Jeremy’s production here is stellar.
The duo is having their EP release show at The Paper Box in Bushwick on Wednesday, October 23rd at 8 PM / $8 / 21+ / Ticket with Evan^Patrick and Wolvves (also two fantastic Brooklyn acts). Don’t miss it!
